The GST migration has been done with some haste in the previous but the now the Kerala associations has sought a new deadline to deal with the migration of GST to mark it for a better implementation. The migration of VAT to GST has given a deadline of 28 February as of now, but the migration to Goods and services tax in India now seems a tedious task for a quick shift as it may create confusion and can build up a pile of errorful data.

All Kerala Distributors’ Association general secretary Babu Kunnoth mentioned that commercial tax department has given various dates for the migration in which 24 January was firstly conceived appropriate but afterward it got extended to 5 February abruptly. But the general secretary is not pretty sure whether the trading community will be able to migrate themselves to the GST online, as of now only half of the 2.05 lakh of merchant community have successfully migrated to the GST and another half can face some issue while migrating as there are lot of documents by the government to perceive for the transfer.
The Aadhar number and TAN i.e. tax indication number will be needed at the time of registration, and after which the Aadhar number which is still not in the pockets of merchants will have to complete the process by obtaining the same from the government office in upcoming time. All the 14 document are must complete the registration and it would be difficult to obtain all of them in a such a short time.

Association general secretary Babu Kunnoth humbly said that “The only way to ensure the migration of the entire trading community is to postpone the deadline to at least February 28.” It was obvious to think that such large base of trader community will face some of the hurdles while migration and this time the issue sticks to the time problem and now it’s GST council which has to decide that the extra time should be given or not.
