Karnataka Ranks 2nd in GST Revenue Collection, Credits Govt Employees’ Efficiency: CM Siddaramaiah

Karnataka Achieves 2nd Rank in GST Collection Due to the Efforts of Govt Employees

Karnataka ranked 2nd in GST collection nationally due to effective contributions by state government employees.

Follow the Norms of the Constitution

The Chief Minister, addressing the Sarvothama Seva Awards for 2023 to 30 State government officers/employees, said that it is important that the employees adhere to the constitution and do their duties to ensure that there are no caste inequalities, ensuring a secular society.

The government organises the function to ensure that people’s aspirations are fulfilled, following the constitution, he mentioned.

Employees are told by Siddaramaiah to emulate the ideals preached by Buddha, Basavanna, Mahatma Gandhi, and B.R. Ambedkar. In the constitution, the ideals of such leaders are enshrined.

The employees who are awarded should become role models for other employees, CM said. The employees of the government must fulfill their responsibilities to serve society, he added.

Don’t Make Ordinary People Run

Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, in the same function, asks employees to take care of the work of ordinary people who approach them, seeking them to fetch one after another document.

“Lakhs of people apply for just 50 to 100 jobs. Remember that it is a rare opportunity to get a job in the government and use it to serve people,” Mr. Shivakumar expressed.

The programme has been attended by the Office-bearers of the Karnataka State Government Employees Association and senior officials.
