Indian Political Parties United On the GST Law: Indian Parliamentarians in the US

India is getting a worldwide recognition in the name of teamwork that the GST showed across all the political parties working together to make this tax reform a success. As of now, there is a smooth flow of processing and implications regarding the GST and its structural framework to ensure hassle free operation when it will finally get rolled out in the nation’s taxation web. The Union cabinet has also formed the GST council that will take care of the further proceeding over the GST.

A group of Indian parliamentarians said in Washington that, “The passage of the historic Goods and Services Tax (GST), which would subsume a number of indirect central and state levies, is a reflection of political parties working together in national interest”.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur has been currently on an Indian-Parliamentarian delegation held in the US said, “It is one of the biggest reforms that India has seen, thanks to the cooperation from all political parties,”.

In the middle of this, a comment also arose upon the tolerant attitude if India and has equally given each and every person a platform to put their viewpoint in front of concerned.

“India as a country have a conservative and contemporary side to it. Yes, there was a rhetoric… What happened is we actually debated in the parliament. We aired (our views) out. Under no circumstances, we can say that India is becoming an intolerant country. Nobody is saying that India is intolerant. The debate is what is the attitude of this government towards tolerance,” said Congress MP Sushmita Dev during an interaction organized by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

All the three MPs didn’t speak about their viewpoints on the presidential elections in the US, however, were very much sure about the Indo-US joint will be reinforced every then and now.
