Discount on Goods and services tax will be soon offered by the government but if the payment is done through 2 specified options including one BHIM App launch by NPCI and by RuPay card of banks.

The government will be soon implementing the idea of giving attractive discounts on taxes paid through the method of 2 payment options. The BHIM app and RuPay card has been chosen for the payment method through which the cashback will be offered.

According to the offer, if the customer pays the taxes though BHIM App and RuPay card then there will be 20 percent discount on GST and the discount will be in the form of cashback which is capped at 100 rs.

The Group of a minister (GoM) had earlier suggested the cashback offer and incentives for the all the digital payment is done. The project will be tested in the states where it is voluntarily accepted.

BHIM App is a unified payment interface based application developed by the national payments corporation of India. The agenda of this cashback offer is to increase the footprints of digital payments in cities and villages alike.

It is said that the offer would bring the additional burden of 1,000 crores on the government which will be taken care of by both central and state government equally.

For an example, if a customer pays the bill of INR 100 with the means of BHIM App and RuPay card applicable with 18 percent GST then he is eligible for Rs. 3.6 cashback as per the offer.
