Due to the Cyclone Fani, the government has taken the decision to extend the due dates for both GSTR 1 and GSTR 3B.
Following the decision, traders, business owners, and taxpayers can now file their April, GST sales summary till 20.06.2019.
Here are a few key points from the decision.
In this agenda, the taxpayers having aggregate turnover more than Rs. 1.5 crores which are to file GSTR 1 for the month of April 2019 in specified districts of Angul, Balasore, Bhadrak , Cuttack , Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Khordha, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh and Puri (Odisha) can now file till 10.06.2019.
Also, the taxpayers having to file GSTR 3B for the month of April 2019 can now file it till 20.06.2019 in case they are registered individuals in specified districts of Angul, Balasore, Bhadrak , Cuttack , Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Khordha, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh and Puri (Odisha).
Reportedly, GSTR-3B has to be filed by the 20th day of the subsequent month. But in light of the disturbances caused to the daily life of the people in these districts, the relaxations have been announced.
In addition to GSTR-3B return, relaxations have also been announced in final sales return or GSTR-1 for April 2019. For business owners in Odisha as the principal place of operation and an aggregate turnover exceeding Rs 1.5 crore, the GSTR-1 due date has been extended to 10th June 2019
