GSTN Increases Document Upload Size to 500KB for New GST Registrations

GSTN Updates Document Upload Size to 500KB for GST Registration

A significant change to the document upload size limits for the Principal Place of Business and Additional Place of Business sections in the New Goods and Services Tax ( GST ) Registration and Amendment processes in the Goods and Services Tax Portal, has been announced by the Goods and Services Tax Network ( GSTN )

The same improvement addresses the grievances from the trade community for the former size constraints, which render rejection of Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration and modification applications and the incapability to upload a readable copy of the requisite documents.

The assessees are enabled to upload the mentioned documents with a maximum size of 500 KB in both the Principal Place of Business and Additional Places of Business tabs:

Before that, the document size limit was 100 KB which has been augmented to 500KB now for Municipal Khata Copy, Electricity Bills, Consent Letters, and Property Tax Receipts. It can be uploaded as JPEG/PDF for Proof of Principal Place of Business and Additional Place of Business.
