In a new way to capture the business entities doing wrongful practices under the GST regime, the government is set to make a new mechanism which would enable the tax officials to raise complaints against the business unit.
The complaints would be further reviewed by the Directorate General of Anti-Profiteering (DGAP). To note that, currently the consumers are the one who stood against any malpractice business entity in case he finds it not passing rate reduction benefits in the market.

Standard operating procedure (SoP) is under refinement which would further make the tax officials raise Suo moto the issue GST anti-profiteering.
As soon as the officials file a complaint against the business entity, the DGAP starts the investigation and submits the report to the National Anti-Profiteering Authority which would further decide the penalty amount along with a quantity of the profiteering amount.
Recently many of the popular tyre brands came under the scrutiny of GST officials and found that there were malpractices going in the business transactions as well as excess claiming of the input tax credit.
