Even though the officer’s committee will be meeting on November 25 to discuss and finalize the three draft legislations – CGST, IGST and compensation law. All these will be kept upon public domain for the stakeholders. Sources told that “The states have suggested certain changes relating to returns procedures in model GST law. Also, they have asked for changes in wordings in compensation law. We will finalize the three draft laws at the November 25 meeting.”

The council has already directed the concerned IT network building firm to live the operation. The migration of taxpayers in India in the GST network has been started from November 8, 2016, by launching the website (www.gst.gov.in). All the existing taxpayers will be transferred to the new database and would be integrated into the online structure of taxation platform.

Accordingly, the center has circulated the draft legislation within the states, on November 16 while the officers in the committee have given their views and discussed it on November 21-22. The main frame will be based on model GST laws on which the Central GST apply and the IGST will be dealing with the movement of goods and services interstate.
