In a tweet, the Hansmukh Adhia told that the returns filed from April to May were close to 62.46 lakhs while previously the number of returns filed from March to April was 60.47 lakhs.
According to some reports, the April month collections were higher due to the March closing, so all the taxpayers had tried to file the returns before the year ending in order to avoid any penalties.
