On Tuesday CBDT (The Central Board of Direct Taxes) expanded the last date of income tax return (ITR) submitting for Assessment year 2021 -22 until March 15, 2022, for certain taxpayers who are entitled to an audit, said by the Ministry of Finance asked.
“On consideration of difficulties reported by the taxpayers and other stakeholders due to COVID and in electronic filing of various reports of audit under the provisions of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (the Act), the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has decided to further extend the due dates for filing of Income Tax Returns and various reports of audit for the Assessment Year 2021-22, stated by the government.”
The adjunct comes along with mentioned appeals by several charted accountant associations, tax professionals, taxpayers, etc to the authority requesting them to stretch the last date of filing of tax audit reports and submitting of the income tax returns. Here is the List of What the CBDT Dept has Declared About Due Date
- The extended date of accomplishing of Report of Audit which falls under any condition of the Act for the last year 2020 -21, which was 30th September 2021, in the terms of individuals directed in section (a) of Explanation 2 to sub-section (1) of section 139 of the Act, as expanded to 31st October 2021 and 15th January 2022 by Circular No.9/2021 dated 20.05.2021 and Circular No.17/2021 dated 09.09.2021 respectively, is inflated more to 15th February 2022;
- The last date of completing of Reports of Audit which allocate of the Act for the last year 2020 -21, which was 31st October 2021, in the terms of individuals directed in section (aa) of Explanation 2 to sub-section (1) of section 139 of the Act, is expanded to 15th February 2022;
- The last date of filing the Report via an Accountant through the individual coming into the international transaction or prescribed domestic transaction under section 92E of the Act for the Previous Year 2020-21, before was 31st October 2021, as prolonged to 30th November 2021 and 31st January 2022 by Circular No.9/2021 dated 20.05.2021 and Circular No.17/2021 on 09.09.2021 correspondingly, is subsequently extended to 15th February 2022;
- The last date to file income return for the AY 2021 -22 was 31st October under sub-section (1) of section 139 of the Act, as prolonged to 30th November 2021 and 15th February 2022 by Circular No.9/2021 on 20.05.2021 and Circular No.17/2021 dated 09.09.2021 correspondingly, is additionally extended to 15th March 2022;
- The last date to file Income Return towards the Assessment Year 2021-22 was 30th November 2021 under sub-section (1) of section 139 of the Act, as prolonged to date 31st December 2021 and 28th February 2022 by Circular No.9/2021 dated 20.05.2021 and Circular No.17/2021 on 09.09.2021 correspondingly, is additionally prolonged to 15th March 2022.
