In a bid to curb tax evasion, the government has finally decided to take a step ahead in the direction of implementing reverse charge mechanism provision. For this, there will be a meeting of a group of ministers GoM scheduled on 16 April.
The meeting supposedly to discuss the application of reverse charge mechanism on the composition dealers at first. The sources stated that the GoM meeting will be scheduled for two days i.e. 16-17 April in which the reverse charge mechanism will be discussed to be applicable to composition dealer.
Also, it is expected that the GoM meeting will mention the return filing procedure on the table and would come up with easy filing procedures in returns. The GoM had called experts, business groups national level industrial units to discuss the provisions in a better manner.
It is known that the group of minister panel was formed in the 21st GST council meeting and the minister of Bihar Sushil Modi is the chairperson of GoM. As earlier explained the reverse charge mechanism was deferred due to the issues raised by the small and big business units.
