The government is planning to ease the profiteering complaint filing forms which are filed against wrong benefits generated under new tax regime, said a senior official.
In the currently existing form named AFAP-1, it requires the furnishing of certain information such as GST identification number of the company, the six-digit Harmonised System of Nomenclature(HSN) code of an item, and detailing about input tax credit under GST regime. To ease the prerequisite, a standing committee is established in terms of the anti-profiteering clause which is continuously making efforts to assist the system. The committee will also come out with new forms for filing profiteering related complaints, according to an official.
Abhishek Jain, a tax consultant at a firm said that the existing forms are difficult to furnish by the normal consumer and easing of forms is necessary. He further said, “Simplifying the form would make it easier for customers to file profiteering complaints.”
