Dealers Under Punjab VAT Act To Migrate into GST by Dec 31

JK Jain, Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Ludhiana division, has encouraged merchants enlisted under the Punjab VAT Act to gather their provisional IDs and passwords from the offices of their individual ETOs by December 21.

Commissioner said according to the guidelines issued by the Government of Punjab, all merchants who are enrolled under the PVAT ACT are required to relocate to GST before December 31. For this, provisional password and ID is being provided for newly incorporated merchants. They can login into GSTNL by using this ID and can change over their PVAT number into provisional GST number by filling the pro forma accessible on the web.

Further, he mentioned that merchants whose names begin with alphabets R, S, T and U would be given provisional IDs and passwords on December 20, while merchants whose names begin with alphabets V, W, X, Y, and Z would be given provisional IDs on December 21.

He included that these IDs and passwords are being provided to merchants at present and would proceed till December 21. He said individuals have been asked to follow the alphabetical order and bring the necessary documents as desired by the GST committee.

The archives required an incorporate photocopy of PAN card, self-attested; recommended pro forma appropriately filled, marked and stamped by the merchant; authority letter if there should arise an occurrence of authorization alongside a duplicate of exceptional or general power of attorney and authority letter in the event of advocacy and chartered accountant.
