Indian Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitely believes that if the GST will be rolled out soon then our nation can have 9% growth. As per the sources, Jaitley has made a new bid to pass the GST by ending the deadlock on bill. FM met with Congress and discuss about the “legacy” it would be leaving behind by opposing it.
In addition, the CM of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee and Bihar CM Mr. Nitish Kumar both leaders are openly backing to the GST therefore, speaking in the Lok Sabha, Finance Minister admired both of them. Mr. Jaitley also appealed to those people who are opposing the GST that any information should not go outside of our country that Indian Parliament is being an “obstruction”.
He also told that our country is being seen as a “bright spot” while the Indian economies have slacked. The GST can have a chance to the full scale growth of the India.
Jaitley replied on a debate which was happening in the Lok Sabha, “It’s not difficult for India to grow at 8-9 percent. It is not impossible.”
He also added, “Those who try to create impediments want to poverty to perpetuate…. By short-sighted vision, we end up hurting the poor in this country.”
According to him, the Goods and Services Tax bill that has aim of reforming the indirect taxation regime in the nation and GST can push the growth the country by one and one and a half percent.
Mr. Jaitley further said, “I would urge the current leadership of Congress party also to look at the history and legacy they want to leave behind. Support these measures so that we are able to grow faster. We have more money to get rid of poverty much faster.”
He indicated, firstly Congress brought the GST in the Parliament and Bill was “unquestionably” the “collective wisdom of everybody… But today they oppose.”
