Condemnation of Mr. Nitish Kumar on Congress for GST Bill

Mr Nitish Kumar

The two giants of their commune, Mr. Nitish kumar – Bihar Chief Minister & Janta Dal Chief along with Mr. Arun Jaitley – Union Finance Minister had a discussion over the hot topic of GST on which Bihar CM gives an encouragement. Since UPA government’s period, when JDU was a regional party it has supported tax reforms & Nitish backing up the GST is no amazement.

GST was said to be critical & must be applied to get rid of the complicated structure of tax implications currently prevailing in the country. However, Mr. Nitish was seen very opposed to the ruling fixation of 18% Rate of GST. He said in the opposition “I do not support capping of the rate of tax.”

Modi government has been asking for reviews from various regional heads for the helping hands in this issue. Whereas Congress is not taking any step in this direction in-spite of being prone to this dilemma. Now the debate is close to any decision & this has been long dragged by the state assemblies who were actually flickering the files with no serious intentions. BJP has been considered to make a delay in application as it opposed the GST when being in opposition & this isn’t good for the greater economy viewpoint.

The congress has been going through wrong path & the reason surfaced was if the GST rate cross too high, the government would find it difficult to level it up again. Here, the panel of Arvind Subramaniam had given there opinion about how the GST rate could be set for the most convenient usage of the revenue. A slighter rate of 12% was suggested for the common people goods which would include the lower section of public, 17-18% of rate was recommended for standard rate to all the majority of items & finally a higher of 40% to the precious items, etc.

“When the BJP was in the Opposition, they were stalling the GST. Now, the Congress is in the Opposition and they are stalling it. And all of us, the middle parties, except the Left, want the GST,” TMC head Derek O’Brien spoke these words recently. Also he said, “I urge the government and the Congress to get their acts together and pass GST in this Parliament Session. They are both to blame for this delay,”

With the same voice, Mayawati also backed up the GST bill but with a glitch. She told in media that, “Our party will give some suggestions when this bill will come up. Our party will support the bill with some suggestions.”

In total of 245 members of higher fraternity, NDA needs the hand of two-third of ratio to win the game including AIDMK. Still congress has a major say into the application of the bill. But after Nitish kumar coming front for the support of GST, the day is near for implementation along with congress to surrender for the same.
