It is very weird to find that GST refund complaints are not eligible due to the internal misrepresentation. The exporters of garment industry have falsely said that they are not getting the GST refunds, while in fact, they didn’t even apply for the same.
Overall the complaints alleging that the garment export industry is facing capital issues due to GST refund delay is totally baseless. A fact check was done to figure out the issue and it was found that in the list of around 1350 garment exporters, there are only 300 of them which have actually applied for the GST refunds.
So it is very much clear that, it’s a false allegation on the central government. One of the GST officials explains that how the exactly central government or the department can process the GST refunds when they have not even got the application for the refunds and after which they make a defamatory statement over the government process.
Even the Tirupur Exporters Association general secretary mentioned that the exporter’s group are at the fault as they have not taken any initiative towards getting their GST returns back and still blames officials for the mismanagement.
The reason being is that many of the exporters are not maintaining proper books of accounts and therefore trying to conceal there own fault with the issue of GST refunds.
