The release of integrated services for the Goods and Services Tax ( GST ) e-invoice-1 and e-invoice-2 portals by the National Informatics Centre ( NIC ), has been announced by the Goods and Services Tax Network ( GSTN ).
Starting July 18, 2024, these services will be available on the sandbox and production portals from August 1, 2024.
The integration strives to confirm the facilitated interoperation between the current e-invoicing portals.
New integrated services features comprise of-
- Unified Access: Both portals, NIC-IRP 1 and 2, offer web and API modes for e-invoice services. Taxpayers can use the same login credentials across both portals.
- API Token Usage: The exact token can be utilized for e-invoices and e-waybills across both portals.
- Redundancy and Reliability: The e-invoice-2 portal serves as a backup during technical issues or emergencies affecting the main e-invoice portal.
- Criss-Cross Operations: Users are enabled to print, download, and cancel e-invoices from either portal, irrespective of where the GST invoice was generated.
- Operational Continuity: If e-invoice-1 undergoes technical difficulties, all e-invoice services can be accessed via e-invoice-2.
- Sandbox Testing: Users are prompted to test all APIs in the sandbox environment (einv-apisandbox.nic.in) prior to deploying them in the production environment.
- Additional Portals: Apart from NIC-IRP 1 and 2, four other e-invoice portals (IRP-3, IRP-4, IRP-5, and IRP-6) are available for assessee convenience.
