bcci

BCCI in an act of timely response has thrown a meeting around various zones of Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi latest of which held in Mumbai. The board is looking for upcoming GST regime in a healthy manner and has started the preparations to be done before the significant implications fall upon.

The meetings are being held on a serious basis and the latest meet held up in Mumbai for the members of the West Zone state units. A detailed meeting is also on the schedule in the city late November 25-26.

A top board official said that “Actually, it is not just a meeting but also a seminar, the introduction of the GST law will have a serious impact on its finance if there is no proper understanding of the new tax laws. The BCCI has called upon treasurers and key tax men of each state association, who will be looking into the matter. BCCI treasurer Anirudh Chaudhary and Chief Finance Officer (CFO) Santosh Rangnekar will be addressing the meeting as known.

A BBCI member introduced this taxation game as, “It is learned that for every invoice sent to the BCCI or a state unit, different GST laws get applied. Suppose MS Dhoni sends an invoice to Jharkhand State Cricket Association, his bill will have two types of GST as every claim comes with the existing 14 per cent sales tax. In the new tax structure, in Dhoni’s case (for example), it will have SGST an IGST while a claim made in Delhi could have CGST. “The meeting and seminar are aimed to clear the air over tax recovery, tax overlap, and tax simplification.”
