The Goods & Services Tax Bill, 2023 has been passed by the Arunachal Pradesh assembly in its revised form.
The bill comprises 26 clauses revising different sections of the Arunachal Pradesh Goods & Services Tax Act, 2017 for inserting new provisions, replacing existing rules, or overlooking some provisions.
Inside the APGST act some revisions have been incurred on the GST council’s suggestion. From October 1 such revisions shall come into force, articulated by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein.
From our side it is compulsory to revise the Arunachal Pradesh Goods & Services Tax Act, 2017 as performed via the central government and other state governments by legislating the Arunachal Pradesh Goods & Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2023, he added.
Since both the central and state governments administer the GST, any modification or revision required under the Act must be approved by both the federal and state governments. According to him, the Finance Act of 2023 has made the GST legal modifications that were suggested by the GST Council and approved by the Union Law Ministry official.

According to the proposals, Mein stated, that each state’s GST Act must be revised.
The deputy chief minister presented the bill to the House.
Mein informed the House that the GST Council reviewed input from numerous groups about taxability during its 50th and 51st meetings and proposed making certain changes to the Central Goods and Services Tax Act of 2017.
