The Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh Yanamala Ramakrishnudu showed his worry about the decision taken by GST (Goods and Services Tax) Council in 32nd meeting by choosing the agenda items without discussing with the state government. Anyhow he is with the decision of GST Council in which the council increased the turnover limit from Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.50 crore to utilize the composition scheme, doubled the annual turn over of GST exemption limit to Rs 40 lakh and the business who wants to utilize the composition scheme has to file one annual return.
“The Council agenda items are being prepared without consulting the states” expressed Ramakrishnudu worriedly in an official statement. He also said that there are problems related to the reduction and exemption of taxes in the State and the council has not taken any step despite sending many letters.
Ramakrishnudu said, “Henceforth, the agenda items (should) be fixed taking into consideration the requests of the states also”. He also added that the states like Delhi, Karnataka and Kerala are also supporting this point.

The Ministers who were present in the 32nd GST (Goods and Services Tax) Council meeting demanded the state governments rescue the amount of Rs 7,000 crore of the pending IGST (Integrated Goods and Services Tax).
He also added “This ad hoc settlement should also be done and released to the states without delay. Andhra Pradesh is expected to get about Rs 100 crore”.
