The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has launched a new scheme called the CCFS-2026 (Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme, 2026). This gives companies a special chance to catch up on any late paperwork they need to file, while paying much lower fees than usual. It also encourages businesses that are not currently active to either officially pause their operations or go through the process of closing down.
This decision is for improving compliance levels while lessening the financial burden caused by heavy penalties on late filings under the Companies Act, 2013.
Reason to Introduce the CCFS-2026
In the present rules, it is crucial for the companies to submit the annual returns as well as financial statements within the specified durations. If it is not within the said time, then an additional late fee of Rs 100 per day, with no upper cap, shall be charged, imposing penalties for businesses.
With India’s active companies exceeding the 20 lakh mark and a surge in startups, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME), and new-age entrepreneurs, the government received representations requesting fee relief. The motive of the scheme is to support such companies and promote seamless operations of business.
CCFS 2026 Key Highlights
Below we have mentioned the highlights of the company’s compliance facilitation scheme, 2026:-
