UP Traders Shines GST Registration India List Grabbing Second Spot

The state of Uttar Pradesh has secured the second spot in the list of most registered traders in the country. In addition to this, the largest state in India by population has bagged the third spot for the most number of GST returns filed. India’s largest sugar producing state now has a registered number of 5.50 lakh GST taxpayers.

Maharashtra has topped the list in terms of the total number of registered GST traders. Whereas, Delhi has occupied the first place in terms of GST returns filed, followed closely by Punjab.

The same was confirmed by Additional Chief Secretary (Labor) Rajendra Kumar Tiwari who was addressing Traders Conclave organized under the aegis of Uttar Pradesh Model Business Board in Hazratganj on Wednesday.

Present in the Traders Conclave was Additional commissioner of commercial tax department Anjaneya Kumar Rai who gave information about GST and e-way bills. The traders also gained insights about the procedures and steps involved in the filing of e-way bills.

Other dignitaries present at the conclave included Treasurer Mr Mohammed Afzal and Provincial Vice President Mr Shashikant Sharma.
