Finally, the snail paced GST Bill issue stood in line for consideration and passage in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday in the expectation that congress and all the big parties would give their shoulders to the deep impacting taxation scheme.
Parliamentary affairs minister Ananth Kumar also confirms this as he spoke out, “The GST Bill is listed for consideration and passage on Wednesday in Rajya Sabha and we seek support of all political parties. The mood is in favour of its passage,”
According to the trusted source, there was a discussion held on Monday with all the opposition parties including congress, Left parties, and Samajwadi Party to assemble them for this significant tax regime. Also, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley sat with the top leaders of congress Ghulam Nabi Azad and Anand Sharma to bring everything in line with this highly reformative topic.
Sources also stated that the government was bringing GST Bill on Tuesday itself but then Sonia Gandhi’s Roadshow in Varanasi pulled the leg of the tax regime as some of Party MP’s would be attending the show and this took the focus away of congress from this major tax issue.
There are major four amendments which government will impose in the Constitution Amendment Bill which include dropping off 1 percent additional tax provision and providing more freedom to the states for full compensation for a time scale of five years.
Congress demand for changing the content of the language for the discrete solution of dispute resolution mechanism in GST council was also agreed upon by the government.
Congress Leader PL Punia at AICC briefing said, “GST is very important for the economy, industry and the business as also for the consumer.”
Also, he said, “With that objection in mind, it was the Congress party which brought the idea of GST. We have raised certain issues and negotiations are still on. We are prepared to accept every reasonable solution which does not adversely affect the business, industry, and consumer.

And BJP alongside is convinced that the legislation would pass in coming three days, for which it has commanded its members to be present in the House.
“We are trying to bring on board everyone on the key legislation and are holding talks to all and clearing their doubts,” as said by an authorized government official. Now the bill can see its birth as soon as possible.
The government is also proposing the amendment in which the rate of tax would be fixed for a better purpose and ensuring that neither state nor consumer suffer the loss of revenue on their pockets.
