The collection of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the city last month shows a rise of 1% against the gross levy collected during the related period last year.
New: The Ministry of Finance reported that Chandigarh collected ₹ 241 crore in GST revenue for March this year, which is ₹ 3 crore more than the ₹ 238 crore collected in March 2024. Additionally, in February, the GST collection was ₹ 236 crore, representing a ₹ 25 crore increase from the ₹ 211 crore collected during the same month in 2024.
Post attaining a decline in December last year, the GST collection in January witnessed a rise of 8% compared to the revenue generated in the related period in 2024. January collection stood at ₹ 271 crore, which was ₹ 19 crore more than ₹ 252 crore mopped up in the same month in 2024.
The GST collection in December last year witnessed a reduction of 20%. The December last year collection arrived at Rs 224 crore, which was Rs 57 crore less than Rs 28 crore generated in the same month in 2023.
The collection of tax represents a 20% rise in November 2024 when it gets Rs 253 crore, Rs 43 crore more than ₹ 210 crore generated in the same month in 2023.
