The income tax portal is the toughest interface between the income tax department and the assessee of the country. Besides allowing e-filing of the ITR for users the portal has been practised with the intention of executing the other work concerning tax assessments like monitoring the notice provided through the council, giving specific responses to Notices, checking refund status queries, rectification, grievance redressal, filing of CIT appeal, etc.
The latest income tax portal was launched through the income tax department dated 7th June 2021 through the urge to provide the assessee with an easier and modern seamless experience on the portal. From June 1, 2021, to June 6, 2021, a blackout period has been announced in which there are no operations of the website which shall be available to the assessee.

There are some latest specifications which consist of quick processing of ITR, the introduction of new dashboards, free and interactive ITR preparation software, the establishment of new call centre, innovative mobile application, upgraded online tax payment system, etc.
With respect to the older income tax website that was easier still efficient in executing the needed chores. The upgraded income tax portal is facing some specific technical issues while performing the operation as of its initial phase and is urged to be streamlined in a shorter time.

- The speed of the latest e-filing portal 2.0 is acknowledged at a slower pace and wants to be addressed immediately. This is due to the filing season for the income tax returns for the FY 2020-21 shall urge and will witness quickly raised traffic.

There are various problems like the non-availability of Vivad se Vishwas compliance, unavailability of the Forms 15CA/CB, hardships in the furnishing of the Income-tax appeals, etc and indeed seems to be a hardship for the stakeholders.
There are various associations that previously directed these problems to the Finance ministry asking for redress. It has urged that these technical issues which are temporary in nature, will be addressed before time, and the latest e-filing portal 2.0 will give the highest user-friendly experience in the future.
