Full Process of Income Tax Return Filing without Software

Procedure to ITR Filing Excluding any Software

  1. Log on to www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal
  2. Tap on the login option
  3. After you tap on the login option, you shall be urged to implement a User ID, and password, to your account.
  4. After you log into your account, tap on the ‘e-File’ menu and tap the ITR link.
  5. On the Income Tax Return Page:
    • Choose ‘Assessment Year’
    • Choose the ‘ITR Form Number’
    • Opt for ‘Filing Type’ as ‘Original/Revised/Modified/Updated Return’
    • Choose ‘Submission Mode’ as ‘Prepare and Submit Online
  6. Tap on continue
    • Note: To prevent the deterioration of the data or rework due to session timeout, tap on the save draft button periodically to save the entered ITR information as a draft.
  1. Select the specific validation option in the taxes paid and the verification tab. Tap any one of the mentioned choices to validate the ITR:
    • “I would like to e-Verify”
    • “I would like to e-Verify later within
    • “I don’t want to e-Verify and would like to send signed ITR-V through normal or speed post to “Centralized Processing Center, Income Tax Department, Bengaluru – 560 500″
  1. Tap on the ‘Preview and Submit’ button and check all the information inscribed in the Income-tax return.
  2. ‘Submit’ the ITR.

Check IT Return Forms & their Applicability

ITR-1: Towards the individual residents excluding the normal residents who have finished a yearly income of Rs 50 lakhs, Salaried income, single House Property, Additional sources Income (Interest, dividend), and Agricultural Income up to Rs.5000.

ITR-2: Towards the person and HUFs who do not have income via profits or business gains from the profession.

ITR 3: Towards the person and HUFs who have the income from the profits and business gains or profession.

ITR 4: Towards HUFs, the person, HUFs, and organizations excluding LLP being a resident who gave the income of up to Rs 50 lakhs and poses the business income from profession calculated beneath sections 44AD 44ADA or 44AE.

ITR 5: Towards the individual excluding than:-

  • (i) Individual,
  • (ii) HUF,
  • (iii) Company and
  • (iv) Person filing Form ITR-7

ITR 6: Towards Company
