The bid for boosting the state’s economy and gives the employment to the migrant people who have returned files during the rise of lockdown, the Uttar Pradesh council has declared a promotion policy which boosts the investment for the backward region of Purvanchal (eastern UP), Madhyanchal (central UP) and Bundelkhand. The industrial units will be provided with the incentives for generating the growth centres in those regions that aim to boost the speed of industrialization.
Under the scheme, those who are developing the industries under the policy of Madhyanchal will be eligible for 70% reimbursement of State Goods and Service Tax (SGST)
The net SGST reimbursement for progression is 70% to the eligible industrial units for 10 years only for industrial investment and employment promotion policy 2017. Speaking to FE the additional chief secretary of infrastructure and industrial development. “Even existing units can take advantage of this policy, provided they scale up their investment as per provisions of the policy and 80% of their investment is made after the notification date,”.

Declaring that the intentions for the policy were to boost industrialization and investments during a pandemic stage. The eligible mega and mega plus category of industrial carryings will then have to create commercial production in 30 months. Also, the super mega plus units will start its production in 42 months from the notified date. “Generally, mega and mega plus units commence production in 60 months or five years while super-mega units take 7 years or 84 months. We have halved the timeline in this policy,”.
The biggest reason is that due to Covid-19 several states have suffered unleashed damage in their financial economy. UP has seen the worst reverse migration where 35 lakh people return back to their state “This is an opportunity for the state, both to create new growth centers in backward areas, which would have a huge trickle-down effect and also create large-scale employment for the migrants locally,”.
