As per the recent update, Business doing registration of Good and Service Tax (GST) faced a delay of around 60 days amid countrywide lockdowns. Usually, the process doesn’t take that much time in compliance. The delay has been faced by several appliances who even applied for it before the lockdown and the same doesn’t receive the registration number till now. Many businesses complained about the issue to the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC)

Meanwhile, the new businesses are not the only one that is facing the issue as per reports interim resolution professionals (IRPs), or people who are managing the firms that are going through corporate insolvency procedures also have been facing the same issue with getting new registrations.
As per rules, interim resolution professionals (IRPs) need to apply for new GST registration
In this matter, Rajat Mohan, senior partner at AMRG Associates responded that “Delay in the grant of registration is acting as an active restraint for IRP/RPs appointed under IBC laws, slowing the revival process for debt-laden companies,”.
