It seems that after the implementation of goods and services tax in India, the commercial and sales tax department are in vain to utilise their powers and enforce regulations. This is due to the incomplete and no officials conveying of duties and responsibilities to the department in accordance with the GST.
As the information is incomplete with no directions, the department can not go further into its duties like checking and surveys as they are now limited. Also, there is lesser or no actions being taken on the incoming and outgoing materials and cargo.
The department stated that from last 8 months, all the goods being transported is not regularly checked due to the authority confusions, making it difficult for the department to earn revenues. The department is under processing of assessment work of 2015-16 and has done major work to the completion and the reports will be soon submitted in February itself.

The department also mentioned that while analysing and checking the papers of the businessman, it was found some irregularities. It is to say that how much taxes were paid on the material and goods bought and sold in that particular period of time.
It was known from the department that after the implementation of GST, the highway checkings were halted due to the commencement of e way bill but that created an illegal path for the traders and lifters to actually transport the goods without any permit.
This has to be checked as soon as possible as the government has decided to implement GST e way bill from 1st April 2018.
