After the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) Regime on 1st July, several taxpayers are complaining that their personal data and information is combining with the others at the time of login into GSTN portal. For this, I-T department is blaming to tax practitioners for registering multiple entities at one time.
As per the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) in Mumbai, several cases came out in a circular “taxpayers are complaining that when they are logging into their account using their login credentials, they are diverted to some others account on GST portal and the data of another taxpayer is displayed in that account”.
As per the tax department, these are some cases in which the registration or enrolment of the business entity has been created by the same tax practitioner. Tax department further added that “This happens when a tax practitioner opens multiple windows on his/her computer in the same browser for different taxpayers. The data while filing up the application form resides in the cache memory of the computer and such mishap happens.”
