Uber Wants Clarity in GST Structure for Its Pillion Ride Services

To the Central Board of Indirect Taxes (CBIT) is been received to acknowledge the representation build by the Uber Indian Systems Pvt Ltd to either privileged it from furnishing the GST for motorcycle pillion rider services said Madras high court provided through it or received these taxes from all the other firms which will provide the same services of transporting the pillion riders from one destination to other.

Judge Anita Sumanth stated that the Central Board of Indirect Taxes These types of taxes paid on Consumption by the consumer but they do not pay directly to the government (unlike income tax). For example, GST, Sales Tax, VAT, Custom Duty and Octroi Tax (CBIT) acknowledges the representation and authenticates the orders on its post affording the opportunity of listening to the applicant firm and the other firm providing the same two-wheeler hiring services.

Indeed the Judge also states that senior standing counsel A.P. Srinivas to take notice for CBIT and increases the procedure by April 5. The guidelines are being provided post-hearing by senior counsel Arvind P.Datar who told that Uber was filing 2.5% for Central GST in which the same operators of 2 wheeler services were not furnishing the taxes.

Nearly 6000 two-wheelers are being operated by Uber beneath its hiring services, delivered senior counsel that the center had permitted for the offering services. The states have allowed yellow-colored number plates and some others have allowed white number plates by private vehicles or so.

Tamil Nadu states that the case was due prior to the division bench of the high court towards the permission to be granted to 2 wheeler services as Uber had executed itself for the event. Receiving the GST (Goods and Services Tax) from Uber alone and not implementing the other operators furnished the taxes has hurt the applicant’s company from executing the rival pricing, he added.
