Taxpayers Worry About GST Filing Technical Errors on the Portal

On Thursday GST portal has seen some technical failure which makes the assessee worried about the last date for GST filing View the due dates of GST return filing forms of GSTR 1, GSTR 3B, GSTR 4, GSTR 5, GSTR 6, GSTR 9, GSTR 9C, etc. The dates are according to the Indian Govt announcement. The portal which is handled by Infosys gets hanged trends on Twitter with #gstnfailed.

“Dear Taxpayers, we have received complaints regarding the difficulty in accessing the portal. We are working to resolve the same and will keep you updated.” said the official Twitter handle of the GST network (GSTN) which gives a response to the micro-blogging site.

And after some time in another Tweet it commented that “Dear Taxpayers, we have again received complaints of denial of access to the portal and are working to resolve it. Inconvenience caused is regretted. Team Infosys-GSTN.”

Lastly, the Infosys team who handles the GST network In today GST regime, the Centre and State Governments and taxpayers are utterly reliable on Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) for IT infrastructure has resolved the problem and said that the issue has been solved by making an appearance on Twitter.

“Dear taxpayers, we observed some activity in cyberspace by unscrupulous elements because of which some taxpayers may have experienced difficulties/delays in accessing GST Portal which otherwise is working fine. We have resolved the problem and blocked these activities. Kindly retry to access the portal. Inconvenience caused is regretted. Infosys-GSTN team,” they write on Twitter.

The last date of GST returns for the yearly filing is then prolonged by the Union government for the fiscal year 2019-20 by 2 months. Now the new last date is given as 28/02/2021 rather than 31/12/2020. GST is the indirect tax that is interchanged with a turmoil of indirect taxes in India like the excise duty, Value Added Tax (VAT), and services tax. The GST Act was adopted in Parliament on 29 March 2017 and converted into law on 1, 2017. Form GSTR 9 is practiced by the enrolled assessee to furnish the GST return every year.
