Tax Payers can Opt Third-party Interfaces in GST Regime

Taking a strategic step towards the GST roll-out, GST Network has been assigned to build the logistical and IT backbone for the upcoming indirect tax regime in India. The company allowed the taxpayers to avail the option of third-party interfaces.

The main reason of providing an option for the third-party interfaces is to facilitate the taxpayers in paying their taxes under the GST, while this will allow them to make payments via IT companies, invite banks and financial technology companies that will come under the GST Suvidha Providers (GSPs). These GSPs will help the taxpayers to register and upload invoice details for return filing.

The company said in a statement that. “GSTN, making a remarkable development, on Tuesday announced the final road-map, process guidelines and implementation framework for IT/ITES/BFSI companies to become GSPs, It is expected that the GSPs shall provide the tax payers with all services mentioned above in addition to maintaining their individual business ledgers (sales ledger and purchase ledger) and other value added services. The taxpayer should have a choice to use third party applications which can provide varied interfaces on desktops, laptops and mobiles and can connect with GST System.”

Also, the GST regime will have a government-to-business portal for taxpayers where all necessary facilities will be provided. The taxpayer can use this as a platform to interact with the choice of third party applications . There will be two types of interactions, one shall be app based and the other one between the GST system and the GSP. The data directly gets redirected to the GSP-GST Server.
