PM Narendra Modi Calls Union Council Meeting Ahead of GST

The prime minister of India Narendra Modi took a quick review of the basic GST and digital India campaign from the union council of minister. The PM was present on the occasion while other significant ministers like Revenue secretary Hansmukh Adhia and Union finance minister Arun Jaitley were addressing the council meeting with presentations.

The council meeting was stretched for about two and a half hour in which several topics were discussed on the platform of Digital India and Cashless economy to be placed in government e-marketplace. The major motto behind the meeting was to make an initiative towards the awareness of all the respective ministers and to send them the signal for making a mark in the general public of this meeting beliefs.

Both the dignified ministers, Revenue secretary Hasmukh Adhia and Finance minister Arun Jaitley were giving detailed information about the complexities of GST and its role within the economic framework. And also mentioned some of the economic significance underpinned in the legislation. Department of electronics and IT secretary Aruna Sundarajan was also with the fellow members and made a presentation over the Digital India topic along with the growth and projection for making the cashless economy in a prospective time.

She was dedicated to imparting the knowledge of how the efforts towards the digital services being provided must be indulged into common everyday transactions while emphasizing the importance of common service centers, digital payment systems, widely acclaimed BHIM App and the very importance of Aadhar card into the nature of digital transformation. The lady also gave a staggering data about how the Indian economy is getting dependent on the digital and electronic tools in which she presented the figures of market standing aside of all the digital transformation taking place.

In between, Commerce secretary Rita Teotia came forward and presented a short slide on government e-Marketplace which is a special purpose platform by the cabinet in order to serve the national public procurement by the government. This is the presentation where the minister also mentioned that this tool will try to curb all the lag and differentiation in governments purchase deals. Overall the PM was just a part of this meeting in which he ordered the knowledgeable minister were taking the floor space. A minister from the meeting mentioned that “This meeting was more like a seminar for ministers to have an integrated understanding of key policy issues like GST and cashless digital transactions.”
