New Rule Under GST E Way Bill For Lesser Distance Travelled

During the meeting held at the central GST departmental commissioner, Ludhiana, the traders have been informed that as it is compulsory to generate e-way bill before leaving the state for other states to transfer the goods, but now, if the cargo before leaving the state is going to weight machines for measure, then they can go only with invoice and without issuing GST e-way bill up to 20 kilometres.

The representative of All India Steel Re-rollers Association (AISRA), Balbir Chand Verma said in the meeting that the cargo first goes for weight measurement before leaving the states. In the response, the Central G.T. Deputy Commissioner Dr Parampreet Rai and Assistant Commissioner Neeraj Kumar mentioned that in a law, it is mentioned to issue invoice if the goods leave the factory for any other than sale purpose reason.

According to the provision, if the carriage leaves for weight scales, then up to 20 kilometres, no e-way bill be generated when a sale is meant for out of state and after 1 June when the e-way bill will be generated for within state sales.
