Beneath the GST nearly 6.12 cr e-way bills for interstate commerce have arrived in the month of November, figured with the lowest in previous 4 months showing moderation in goods dispatches after the festive seasons.

Since June 2021 a constant surge has been seen in GST e-way bill generation post falling to below 4 cr in May at the time of the pandemic. The e-way bills generated in Oct stand at 7.35 cr which tops the data since the indirect tax regime was launched in July 2017, showing a rise in the economic activities during the festive season and rectified compliance.

In November the e-way generation was 20.38 lakh which is lower by 14% on the month with respect to 23.71 lakh in October. But the daily generation of e-way bills marked at 21.1 lakh within the first 5 days of Dec showing the likelihood of surging the demand before the end of the year.

E-way bill generation through businesses increased to 6.79 crores during September from 6.59 crore in August, 6.42 crore in July, and 5.47 crore in June.

The higher e-way bills generation is shown in higher GST revenues. Gross goods and services tax collections occurred at Rs 1,31,526 crore in November (October sales) 2021, it is the 2nd highest finish of the complete indirect tax that was started in July 2017.
