The case related to GST would be subjected to every state which India occupies in its reign, and the J&K is not untouched from this. An order being passed by the officials said that “In supersession of all previous orders on the subject, the sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of a High Powered Committee… for drafting the legislation with regard to joining the proposed Goods and Services Tax in India and its extension to Jammu and Kashmir state (proposed Constitutional Amendment Bill).”
The Committee, which might be overhauled by Finance Department, has been requested to present its report with a time period of three months. The advisory group was shaped on December 7, 2016, and has a whole time period up to March 6, 2017, to showcase its report. The committee may co-opt any other officer as a member as it may deem fit.”
