Jharkhand Extends Registration Time Period for GST

GST Registration in Jharkhand

The time period for GST Enrollment has been given some extension in the light of the fact that most of the states and people are still having little knowledge about GST and its registration process. Some inconvenience has also been caused by the slow response of government towards the full implication. The sales tax department of the Jharkhand government has given the state’s agents, whose gross turnover is not as much as Rs 20 lakh, an amplified time for enlisting an exemptions endorsement under the goods and services tax (GST).

As indicated by the measurements given by the sales tax department, just 72,000 agents with a gross yearly turnover beneath Rs 20 lakh, have enlisted in the goods and services tax organize (GSTN) amid this period. With the aspiring GST scheme to take off in April one next year, the sales tax department has amplified the period for the enrollment until December 22 which was initially December 15.

Gopal Krishna Tiwari, sales tax commissioner mentioned that “Considering the fact that the enrollment of businessmen in Jharkhand has been less, the deadline has been extended from December 15 to 22.”

The sales tax department said it has made a 24×7 dynamic toll free number (0651 6600500), operational from Sunday. The toll-free helpline will control the merchants through the enrolment procedure, the whole day.

Prepared experts of a privately owned business (TCS) have been deputed in every one of the divisions of the state to guarantee a smooth and simple enrolment handle for all, Tiwari mentioned.

Be that as it may, the aggregate enrolment is approximately 30% of the aggregate number of agents falling under the tax parameter, the department guaranteed. Tiwari said GST, which is being named as a “tax reform” will help the state for revenue generation in long term.
