The GST council will be playing a very significant role in the implementation of the new taxation regime across the country. While carrying important aspects, the council will be responsible for all the major decisions and roll out regarding the taxation structure.
In the same direction, the IRS officers met with the Finance minister in the consideration of GST council appointments and want their presence into the team of management. The said plea is noteworthy as the taxation scheme would be requiring an expert personnel with an overall knowledge in depth of the financial structure.
The Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that “the officers of the department, as well as the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC), would be key to GST, and the interest of the officers would not be compromised and no post would be reduced under any circumstance, rather the role would increase.”
The association affirmed that the state’s Value Added Tax officers are being trained by IRS officers all over the country, laws and procedures are being framed and new service structure being drafted, and taking into the note of this betterment, the ministry and government should take a benefit from the significant talent.
