Industrialists and Professionals Give Remarkable Advice to CGST Dept.

Suggestions & Feedback to CGST Dept Indore

Before the GST tribunal is established, the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) department should offer a temporary provision to accept a taxpayer’s appeal by accepting a partial amount.

Industrialists have requested the CGST department to grant a taxpayer’s appeal by accepting 20% of the entire amount owed until the appeal is decided.

“The need is to expedite the process of setting up the GST appellate tribunal. Also until the process is done, the appeals should be accepted by the department and for this, a temporary provision should be made,” stated Tarun Vyas, secretary, of the Association of Industries Madhya Pradesh.

A meeting of business leaders and tax experts was held on Monday by the CGST and Central Excise, Indore, to get suggestions and input on important GST standards.

Industrialists recommended that the department accept the taxpayer’s appeal as a temporary solution while collecting 20% of the entire payment amount from the assessors.

Industry participants believe that local officials should be permitted to check the paperwork for new GST registrations.

Vyas stated that “GST registration should be made hassle-free and smooth. For this, the verification of documents should be done at local levels by the regional office.”

Industry experts and tax experts were also urged to be delicate when giving notices. Experts advise against issuing the assessor another warning by the centre if the state has already issued one based on information they provided during an investigation.

Participants in the industry also asked the agency to refrain from cancelling the GST registration from the back date.
