But before talking about the precautions let’s take a look at the symptoms of COVID-19.

Symptoms of COVID-19 or Coronavirus Disease

The disease is popular with many names such as Coronavirus disease, 2019-nCov, 2019 Novel Coronavirus and Covid-19. It is an infectious disease caused by a new virus that had not been previously identified in humans. The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person either due to the close contact with one another or through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The virus causes a respiratory illness similar to the flu with symptoms with are enlisted below.

The vaccinations is now present but as per reports washing your hands frequently and avoiding touching your face is the best beneficial precautions you can include in your lifestyle to protect yourself against the Coronavirus outbreak.

How to Protect Yourself from Coronavirus?

In the past months there was no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease (COVID-19), but from today onwards the coronavirus vaccine is now available for each and every person hence now the citizen can prevent their illness by getting themselves registered and get vaccinated so to avoid the virus. citizens can get themselves registered through online portal as it is commenced from today 1st March 2021

Clean your Hands Often

As per WHO, Regularly thoroughly wash your hands with soap at least 20 seconds and kills viruses that may be on your hands. You need to do that, especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

Avoid Close Contact with People Who are Sick

If COVID-19 is spreading in your community, then you need to keep a distance between yourself and other people. This is essential for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick. So Maintain at least 1 meter (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone to protect yourself as well as others.

Avoid Touching Your Face

2019 Novel Coronavirus is mainly spread through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes, and these droplets found their way to enter the human body through mouth or nose mostly, thus you need to avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Stay Home if you’re Sick

If you are sick then it is best to stay home and take some rest, except to get medical care. Check the WHO’s website and Learn what to do if you are sick. Make sure to follow all the precautions and medication.

Cover Coughs and Sneezes

Make sure to cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow. These viruses spread through water droplets so protect yourself and others by covering your mouth and nose.

Throw Used Tissues in the Trash

Don’t throw used tissues here and there. After using tissues make sure to throw in covered dustbins or trash cans. Additionally, you need to Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Wear a Face Mask if You are Sick

If you are sick, stay at home, take medication and follow all the precautions, but when you are around other people, you should wear a face mask. You have to wear a face mask when you are sharing a room or vehicle and even before you enter a health care provider’s office. In cases where people are not able to wear a face mask due to a breathing problem, then it is highly advised to cover your coughs and sneezes. Additionally, people who care for you also need to wear a facemask if they enter your room. If you are NOT sick then there is no need to wear a face mask unless you are caring for someone who is sick. I would like to mention here that there can be a shortage of face-mask availability, and they should be saved for caregivers.

Clean and Disinfect

These viruses can live outside of a human body for a few hours, so make sure to clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily like your work desk, keyboard, mouse, pens, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, phones, toilets, faucets, sinks, etc. You can use detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.

Increase your Immune System

Boosting our immune system is the best precaution you can take against CoronaVirus or any other flu-like illness. Thus Make sure to take a veggie-rich diet, take less stress, sleep well, do exercises, and live in a hygienic environment.

Don’t Panic

It is not written on any research paper, but it is important, not just you, almost everyone is afraid of this disease, so don’t panic otherwise you will invite few more problems and health issues. Eat a healthy diet, sleep well and take all the precautions.

An old saying is “Prevention is better than cure” and it is applied to almost every problem, including any type of Disease, health issue and illness. At this time where Coronavirus is affecting almost everything, whether you are a CA or not you need to stay calm and take all the precautions to protect yourself from Coronavirus.
