Hassle-free Work, New Feature to Quick Assist GST Registration Status

New capabilities that will let taxpayers follow the status of their applications for new registrations or clarification papers have just been added to the GST system. Particularly, information about the state and centre jurisdiction connected to the application will now be displayed in the portal’s Application Reference Number (ARN) status.

The taxpayers, tax experts, and practitioners who have submitted “Form GST REG-01 (Application of New Registration) or Form GST REG-04 (Clarification/Additional Information/Document for Registration, Amendment, or Cancellation)” are anticipated to benefit the most from this new feature.

The availability of this extra information will make it simpler for taxpayers to monitor the status of their applications and make sure they are adhering to all applicable rules.

Formerly, when a user searched for an application status using their Application Reference Number (ARN), just the following information was displayed:

  • Form No. (GST REG-01 or GST REG-04)
  • Form Description
  • Submission Date
  • Status
  • Assigned to (Center/State)

Together with the previously mentioned information, the state or centre’s jurisdiction is now clearly displayed for the benefit of taxpayers and tax specialists. Prior to this, the parties had to check the jurisdiction on the official CBIC website.
