The revenue department announced that the GSTN enrollment window which was closed on 30th April will be again started in a few weeks from now. The enrollment window will be helping the taxpayers in the process of enrolling into the Goods and services tax network (GSTN) portal. There are about 60 lakh taxpayers which were enrolled on the GSTN portal in the duration between 8 November 2016 and 30 April 2017. The enrollment window will re-open on 1st June 2017 for 15 days.
Earlier the enrollment of many dealers was stuck due to the absence of relevant documents and stringent process of the authorities. For this reason, thousand of taxpayers were unable to migrate themselves into the GST portal. But still, is speculated that 34 percent of the total taxpaying base have not registered under the GSTN portal.

The announcement has made it clear that the enrollment window will be reopening at a certain date in order to facilitate those taxpayers who couldn’t enroll themselves into the GSTN portal previously while also helping those taxpayers who didn’t sign the enrollment form even when they enrolled for the same. The enrollment window was effectively closed on 30 April 2017.
The finance ministry in a tweet mentioned that “The GST enrollment process on GSTN portal has been temporarily suspended and would begin in a few weeks.” While the finance ministry has been running various awareness campaigns to spread knowledge regarding GST.
