GST application is proving tons of work and pressure on the government which has to roll out the reformative taxation regime on a pre-decided timeline of 1 April 2017. In the direction of preparation, the revenue department has to scoop up the training session to a steep level as there is a giant target of 60,000 official to be trained in a meager amount of time.
The National Academy of Customs, Excise, and Narcotics (NACEN) has been loaded with the responsibility to train around 60,000 professional to get ready for the GST and its operational activities. As of now, there are only 3,074 officials has got their training skills.

CBEC Chairman Najib Shah has delivered a keynote while talking to officials, “There are undoubtedly huge challenges before us as we go about learning the nuances and provisions of the new law. We need to recognize the changes taking place and reorganize our existing administrative set-up to meet the requirements of the new tax regime.”
CBEC officials will be the backbone of IT structure which will be responsible for governing the everyday operation of GST. Finance Minister assured of providing an equal response to the needs of taxation scheme while addressing a parliamentary consultative committee yesterday.

Meanwhile, Mr. Shah also said that “CBEC will have to provide a lead role in meeting implementation challenges, training officials, the trade, and industry, holding workshops with all stakeholders and acquiring and imparting necessary IT skills.”
