GST Registrations Under Scrutiny with Normal Collections

Recently Haryana has zeroed in on 138 new enrolled taxpayers for the state under GST for doubtful transactions said by The tax research unit (TRU) of the excise and taxation department. The taxpayers will be determined from the information analytic ability of TRU.

The speaker of the state in the excise and taxation department states that the doubtful taxpayers were “subjected to physical verifications by field offices of the department. They reported that 69 of the 138 cases were fake or non-existent. He said recoveries of Rs 28.54 lakh had been affected and a credit of Rs 31.63 crore had been blocked to these 69 taxpayers”.

The clarification of the records for these bodies shows that the credit of Rs 1,182.23 crore for the taxpayer has passed, declares the speaker. He said cases should be referred to individual districts offices for mandatory actions. He states “A dedicated cell in TRU will be monitoring the progress of cases at regular intervals. So far, 15 taxpayers have been cancelled by the department,”.

In April the GST collection Nationwide lockdown that was announced due to increasing cases of COVID-19 in India has adversely affected revenue collections of April.
