GST Rate on Air Purifiers Should Be Reduced To 5 Percent

The government recently was held for the degrading health concerns of the general public by the growth of pollution both land and air at a tremendous pace.

As per the president of consumer electronics major Sharp, Kishalay Ray, it was heard that the government should reduce the GST rates on almost all the health-based products including the air purifiers.

Due to the severe air pollution conditions in Delhi, the air purifiers are termed as a major health benefitting product which also makes it eligible for a decent GST rate cut i.e. it should be brought down to 5 per cent.

Air pollution has been killing a lot of people around the globe and in this league, India capital is not much behind with AQI levels hovering between poor to hazardous from a long time.

Government is requested from the pollution activist as well as the other health advocates that the products such as Air purifiers which basically resolves a portion of air pollution issues should be levied with a lower GST rate i.e. 5 per cent at max.
