General Public pays a small amount for using Public Facilities provided by the Central Government. A small amount of Rs 2 is charged throughout the country as maintenance cost.
However, a restaurant in Erode district of Tamil Nadu reportedly charged GST bill on the use of facilities inside its premises.
The bill was shared by a boy on a social networking website. The takeaway bill was Rs 11. Rs 10 was the charged and a GST tax amount of Rs 1 was levied on it.
In May 2017, some restaurants in Delhi had decided that the use of facilities in their premises by women and children would be free and they could be also used by those people also who don’t dine or eat there. Karnataka followed suit. And all hotels implemented the same. Its high time that other states follow in these footsteps.
