GST Lacks India Centric Approach – Editor Thuglak Magazine

Starting from the implementation of GST, it has been a round of discussion for the political parties to solve out any discrepancies arising out of compliance obligations of GST. But as the GST impact is getting expanded on various levels of enforcement, many of the private authorities and magazines are coming forth to talk about India’s biggest tax reform.

Recently, one of the renowned Thuglak Magazine sent out comments over GST through its editor in command, S. Gurumurthy. As said by the editor over the meeting, GST is a great move taken by the Narendra Modi Government but its impact is not neutral across the India, said S. Gurumurthy Editor of Thuglak magazine.

While Speaking at a session on “GST reality check” which was arranged by the Madras Management Association in a mutual cooperation with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.

He suggested that to avoid corruption and inspector raj in India, offer exemption on certain categories from GST for the duration of three years rather than fixing a monetary cap.

According to a report of Credit Suisse, there was a contribution of 50 percent India’s GDP in unorganized sector and nearly 128 million people were employed, said Mr Gurumurthy.

It was enhancing by 18 percent significantly year- after- year and created 90 percent of employment opportunities especially in Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
