In September, gross GST collection surged to 9.1% to more than Rs 1.89 lakh crore because of the surge in sales due to the rate rationalisation, the government data specified.
In September 2024, the gross GST mop-up was Rs 1.73 lakh crore. Rs 1.86 lakh crore was the last month’s collection.
Domestic GST Collections Up 6.8% in September 2025
In September, the gross domestic revenue surged to 6.8% to Rs 1.36 lakh crore, and tax via imports surged to 15.6% to Rs 52,492 crore.
GST refunds have been increased to 40.1 per cent year-on-year to Rs 28,657 crore. In September 2025, net GST revenue stood at Rs 1.60 lakh crore, recording 5% year-on-year growth.
GST 2.0 Reforms Boost September 2025 Collections
The outcome of GST rate rationalisation that was effected from September 22 has been exhibited in the GST numbers. As GST 2.0 reforms came into force, prices of as many as 375 items, including kitchen staples to electronics, from medicines and equipment to automobiles, got more affordable from September 22.
