The state of Chhattisgarh tops at number 1 in collecting the maximum GST in October month facing relevancy with the state Andhra Pradesh. Even in the pandemic, the agricultural state wipes 26% higher GST from the last month as compared to October 2019. Despite covid-19, the economy of Chhattisgarh gives better results than the majority of states.
GST collection in the same state comes at 2nd after Jammu and Kashmir grossing a 24% hike throughout September 2019. In October 2020 the GST collection of Chhattisgarh reveals at Rs 1,974 crore Rs 404 crore more than recorded last year in October.
Elaborating the cause for this strengthened financial rise, in the period of lockdown Chhattisgarh government told that the financial activities are to be carried on in rural as well as forest region. Over 19 lakh farmers will receive payment for paddy procurement at frequent periods. In the accounts of farmers, Rs 1500 cr was given on Rajyotsav (state foundation day), as the 3rd installment under the scheme. In before times two installments for Rs 1500 Cr each have given to the farmers.

The state of Rajasthan has received 16% higher GST for October month which stood at Rs 1902 crore as compared to Rs 1638.50 crore for a similar month in the previous year.
The higher GST collections received, filled the gaps for the losses over the seven months of the present fiscal year with respect to the last year of the same period by 7% at the completion of October.
The VAT collection also hiked by 23% for October assisting the state posses a rise of 4% in April- October duration to similar 7 months of last year.
“Recovery in economic activities has picked up momentum. We have also started monitoring at the micro level for better compliance of tax filing by the suppliers. We are tracking the top 100 suppliers at the ward level. Both factors have contributed to the increased realization of taxes.” said Abhishek Bhagotia commissioner of commercial taxes.
At the finish of December, the GST collections seem to get equal as it was last year “Our expectation is that the deficit will be fully covered up to December, compared to the collections we had in the first three quarters of 2019-20,” said Abhishek.
In the 4th quarter of the present financial year, the tax collections seem to increase stating the criteria of the before months “We expect a growth in collections in the March quarter. Even after going down by 35% in the first quarter, it is very much likely, we will end the year with growth,” stated Bhagotia.
